wxmaxima doesn't plot any graphs

Hello, I just installed wxmaxima and I'm having problems graphing right off the bat. basically....nothing happens. No errors, no nothing. If I turn around and use the same syntax in just maxima in a terminal then I will see an ascii graph. What gives?

Be sure you have gnuplot installed. I think

$ sudo apt-get install gnuplot

should do it.

Which version of Ubuntu are you running? Can you type normal equations into wxmaxima and get a result?
