Exclamation HP All in One OMNI 120 PC

This PC has really bad issues with Ubuntu and with Linux in general. The PC comes with an Intel HD Graphics 2000. (Sandy/Ivy bridge). When Ubuntu boots on this machine the screen flickers heavily, you can still manage to see a few things on screen but working on it wold be crazy.

Here is a video of the issue:

    https://plus.google.com/u/0/11734220...ts/JHVJec9HhUJ

I tried everything, to try and fix the issue but to no avail: I tied 32 and 64 bits version of Ubuntu, tried various PPAs including glasen/intel-driver, xorg-edgers/ppa and the proposed repositories for Ubuntu 12.04 but nothing.

I tried with ubuntu 12.10 Alpha 3 and problem still persists.

The only way to get an stable image on the screen is to boot with nomodeset which only allows 1024x768 resolution and that is really low and also is not the correct aspect ratio for the monitor.

I tried with OpenSUSE 12.1 but with it all I get is a black screen (I tried with 1024x768 and VESA video modes). I'm pretty sure that this PC is just incompatible with Linux. Don't buy an HP All in One PC if you want to run Linux.

    1. mini-ITX motherboard, integrated CPU & graphics
    2. Intel
    3. DN2800MT, Cedarview / Cedar Trail
    4. hardware graphics acceleration not available to Linux

Tried Ubuntu 12.04, and 12.10 beta 2; runs X but without graphics acceleration
The Intel website has Linux drivers to download and case study instructions, but these don't work on Ubuntu 12.

    USB Keyboard
    Sharkoon Skiller Gaming Keyboard
    Ubuntu 12.04
    Ubuntu 12.10
And many other flavors of Linux to include a Gentoo build.

Works in CMOS and GRUB but as soon as it boots to Linux it stops.

Distros tried: Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Edbuntu, Xubuntu, Linux Mint, and Manjaro. (Problem)
Graphics: GeForce Sparkle 6600 LE 256mb GPU *with current driver 304.64* (Problem)

Problem, currently, is the GPU. All available drivers are supposed to support the GPU series (Geforce 6 Series), however no distro I tested above works with the above GPU and the drivers, or even without the drivers installed. The problem is that you get a black screen after the GRUB, and hideous static screens on boot up.

    Good Morning,
I have been searching around, however effectively{8^)
Is there any plans to support Ubuntu on the s390 platform?
That could roughly be translated to say IBM mainframe IFL....

    Thank you very much

    Keyboard & mice
    Logitech
    MX5500
    Ubuntu 12.10

Only workaround is to install kernel 3.7.0 or later.
    Naturally, makes installation very painful.
