    Ubuntu 10.04 LTS
    HP Pavillion dv6-3006tx 15.6" laptop
    Intel® Core™ i5-430M processor
    4096MB DDR3 1066MHz (2 Dimm)
    802.11b⁄g⁄n WLAN 10⁄100 ethernet
    ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5650 with 1GB

Failed to disable the Touchpad, which is big enough, and close enough to the keyboard, to constantly interfere with typing. Giving commands via synclient would inactivate it for at most 30 seconds. Uninstalling the xserver-xorg-input-synaptics package had no effect. Other approaches, similar to these, also failed.

The Epson EPL-6100L Printer is recognized and installed fine but it doesn't print! Not even the test-page! It is the only Printer plugged into my computer. It works nice when plugged to my notebook with Win7.
Googled it, but didn't find a suitable answer.

I use this command to disable mine:

    PHP Code:
    xinput set-int-prop "SynPS/2 Synaptics TouchPad" "Device Enabled" 8 0

MadCatz Cyborg R.A.T. 7 Wired mouse. Just released in June. It appears to work out of the box except it doesn't fully. I've tried this on two machines, one running Kubuntu and one running Ubuntu. On both KDE and Gnome, After a few seconds of being logged in, I cannot drag a window, click on buttons, or even select windows to be on top. I know it's not the mouse per se malfuctioning because in kde, I can still click on the "K" Start menu type button at the bottom right, but other buttons no longer work. If I change modes on the mouse (Yes it has like 4 different modes as well as 4 DPI settings that you can change in hardware.) Selection will work again but then a few seconds later the process repeats. I did a tail -f /var/log/syslog and tail -f /var/log/messages, and there is nothing going on except for the plug in and out events. Lots of people are going to want to buy this new mouse as it's a gaming enthusiasts dream mouse. Would like a firmware driver written for this as I think with all of the extra's this mouse comes with that most mice do not have, it will need one to work fully.

    Goes up to 5400 DPI!

    Custom built PC.

    • Acer H233H Monitor
    • Asus M4A78T-E Motherboard
    • Atheros L1E On-Board NIC
    • AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition
    • North Bridge AMD 790GX
    • South Bridge SB750
    • ATI Radeon HD 3300 built-in 128MB DDR3 1333
    • VIA VT1708S 8 Channel On-Boar Audio
    • 2 DVD+RWs (HP 1270 & HP 1260)
    • Western Digital Caviar (Green) WD5000AAVS
    • External Seagate Free-Agent HDD

Everything is working perfect. For the On-Board NIC, remember, you have to enable it in your BIOS for it to work!
