Dell SX260 - Virtual video memory seems to be a problem. There's a lot of fixes for similar problems, but none seem to work for this box (in my experience).

ASRock 775 VM800 Motherboard
Under Ubuntu Feisty cannot recognize onboard video card. No drivers found online. Otherwise works pretty good.

Ubuntu 6 and 7 will not install at all.
forced installations result in a Snowcrash.
Will not boot beyond "loading standard PCI Resources"
Install program will not load at all in normal mode.
*Forced Installation means: typing, "quiet splash noapi=off irqpoll" in the 'Alternate' CD menu Command line.(which results in a snowcrash on initial boot)
Identical problems with Zenwalk.
And very similar with openSUSE.
Live CD will not install at all.
Editing the boot kernel with the above command line does not work.
Adjusting the Bios settings does not work.
Hello Everything,
I have a Fujitsu Siemens Amilo M1451G laptop with an Intel Realtek ALC880 soundcard. I have installed Ubuntu Feisty 7.04 with 2.6.20 kernel but suond doesn't work.I have an X on volume control and if I click on i have this errore message:
No G-Stream plugin or dispositive of volume regolation.
Can I have your help?
That's not true. Mine worked with no configuration. However, it won't work with the IR light for detecting dust. It just spits errors out
Epson 4180 scanner doesn't work though.
This isn't the correct place for help i believe. It's a list. Make a new post

Card reader on my HP nx6120 laptop doesn't seem to work. It somehow tries to read because it is lighting up but nothing ever shows up.

Tried the following CDs:
xubuntu 7.04 desktop, xubuntu 7.04 alternate:
The boot screen shows as expected. After starting the install (both standard install and safe graphics mode) it appears to initiate the install process (some green text and some dots at top edge of the screen) then screens turns black with a blinking dash in top left corner and nothing happens.
ubnutu 7.04 desktop:
The boot screen shows as expected. After starting the install (both standard install and safe graphics mode) it appears to initiate the install process (as above) then (with the menu still visible) it stops reporting in green text at top of screen "invalid or corrupt kernel image". When selecting one of the menus it reports "Could not find kernel image".
ubuntu 7.04 alternate
The boot screen shows as expected. After starting the installation the screen blinks a few times and it reboots (returning to the boot screen).
Installed Xubuntu 6.10 without a hitch, then upgraded to xubuntu 7.04 with kernel 2.6.20-16, which resulted in the laptop constantly rebooting (without any user interaction).
So the conclusion is that this laptop does not work with feisty!
