Everything is just fine, but the monitor. As TerryMasters' prob, I often got my monitor be like this http://i.imgur.com/HFksc.png or http://i.imgur.com/5wo55.png
But it can be solved by maximizing the window, and revert it back (restore). If the error stay still, I just do maximize-restore till it's gone.

Compaq 610 laptop;
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS;
Logitech MK260 wireless keyboard/mouse combo.
Plugged the Logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo USB dongle into the laptop and the keyboard and mouse were immediately recognised and operational, no drivers or tweaking required. They just worked 'out of the box'.

@Raphial Hebert: Everything up to and including 10.10 (apart from 10.04 LTS) has reached end of life and no longer supported. 11.04 only lasts until October. Perhaps not great having a no longer supported release on a server. LTS releases are best and advised for server and production machines.
Running Linux Ubuntu 12.04 (64bit)
Specs:
1.Intel Pentium Dual Core E5200,2x2.5Ghz
2.MB : Gigabyte G31M-ES2C
3. Kingmax ,ddr2, 4gb dual channel
4.HDD Hitachi 250gb
5.Powercolor Radeon HD4850 PCIE,512mb,ddr3
Running great
And the numeric-pad? I also use 10.04 on a Packard Bell I5 desktop, but the numeric-pad just moves the cursor no matter if I press numlock on or off....
When I log in, the numeric-pad seems to generate the numbers well, but after login, the numeric-pad doesn't work except for moving the cursor.
Maybe someone has a bright idea what to do???

@Doctor_Muesli (who no doubt had a healthy breakfast! )
Never tried the numeric pad. I'll have a go later and let you know.
