The Ubuntu Forums have grown tremendously over the years. While we regret that we are discontinuing our Other OS Talk category, this gives us an opportunity to help other Linux distributions grow by directing traffic to the websites of these distributions. Here is a list of the official websites for the operating systems that used to have individual forums here. We hope you are able to find further assistance from there. And finally, if you haven't yet found what you are looking for, we suggest you look for information on the DistroWatch website or you might try the multi-distribution LinuxQuestions forum. |

LaTeX in Sabayon
I have Ubuntu, Debian, and Gentoo installed on my machine and am playing with all three. As a retired person (
One of the things that is important to me is a book (on assembly language) that I have nearly completed. It is written in LaTeX. The biggest problem I'm having with Gentoo is its LaTeX. I have migrated my Ubuntu and Debian to texlive since tetex will no longer be developed. I had to unmask livetex and do lots of things by hand in Gentoo in order to get it to install, and it still does not run correctly. The problem I had with Gentoo's tetex install is that it did different things with my book source. Fonts and page placement were different. Does anyone know if texlive works in Sabayon? BTW, I'm not inclined to write over my Gentoo with Sabayon without a good reason. The texlive issue would be a good reason. Perhaps someone has other good reasons.
