    GetDeb.net. have u seen it?

I stumbled into this web page today http://www.getdeb.net/.
It seems that they provide latest packages for ubuntu of popular apps.
Base is still small but still its there if u need it.
What do you think of it?

    Yep,
its been mentioned before a few months ago.

I go there for anything that I need if my current version of something doesn't have a facility I would like.

    eg Avidemux, brassero.

I'd like to advise everyone that they only use trusted repositories... ie Ubuntu, and those you build yourself.

Look at my sig for the bad things that can happen

P.s. I may seem hypocritical seen as I help build, maintain & host 3rd party Beryl repos... but what can I say... there's absolutely no reason why you should trust me but for my status as a recognised Ubuntu Member and my position as staff on these forums.

That said, (and I agree with PriceChild) I have used one or two packages from that site with good results...just games and trivial stuff, though. I would also use builds from there on a test computer, etc.

For anything that will be used regularly or in production stick to official repositories or build yourself if you want to be sure of what you are using.
