The Ubuntu Forums have grown tremendously over the years. While we regret that we are discontinuing our Other OS Talk category, this gives us an opportunity to help other Linux distributions grow by directing traffic to the websites of these distributions.

Here is a list of the official websites for the operating systems that used to have individual forums here. We hope you are able to find further assistance from there. And finally, if you haven't yet found what you are looking for, we suggest you look for information on the DistroWatch website or you might try the multi-distribution LinuxQuestions forum.

Hey Rav Tux, have you seen this one yet?

Since you seem to be the resident distro junkie Did you see this one pop up on distrowatch today?

http://bintoo.sourceforge.net/drpl/

It'd be interesting to see how it stacks up next to Sabayon.

you know you want to download it.

It's prebuild binary and not source.

Thanks for the link.

(As I side note, I don't know why I'm such a screenshot junkie. It's not like the applications look any different; they're all the same. I guess I'm just wondering what color scheme they use as a default. )

I have not seen it...Thanks for the link...but I found it ironic that they choose a name similar to my concept here:

Ubentoo Box...A Ubuntu/Gentoo hybrid

I honestly won't be trying it,....but it looks cool....my distro junkie days have become bland...

I will stick with the tried and true....dedicated to Ubuntu and Sabayon.....and I will save my blank CD's/DVD's.....for my favorites of the past.....IE: Dreamlinux, KNOPPIX, rPath, Wolvix, Zenwalk, Aquamorph, Puppy, Dyne:bolic, Musix, GoblinX......etc. etc.

but I encourage all to try it and have fun with it....

The distro is obviously doomed if Rav Tux isn't going to try it

In my opinion, that defeats most of the purpose of Gentoo. It's good if you don't have internet or a good connection and still want the advantages of Gentoo, but I would pick Debian for those purposes. I don't have anything against it, that is just why I like Gentoo.
