    Question Gamepad and Znes

    Good afternoon to all!

i have a genius maxfire minipad gamepad but znes dont recognize the directions (the rest of the buttons seems to work fine).

i donwloaded and installed the packages joystick and jscalibrator and i calibrate my pad, which means that ubuntu recognize it.

When i enter in the configuration screen for znes to configure my pad, the program dont let me asign the direction of my pad.

    any ideas?

    Re: Gamepad and Znes

i have the same problem with my xbox controller s & zsnes. but i'm content to use the six-axis d-pad part of the controller.

another thing i've noticed with my xbox controller & zsnes is that zsnes doesn't like the triggers. (i assume its cuz they're pressure sensitive & zsnes can't recognize/handle that). for instance, if i map the diagonal aim/look buttons in super metroid to the triggers on the back of the controller; and i hit one of the triggers, samus will point in the proper direction, but she'll be stuck pointing in that direction and the only way to solve it is to reset the game.

Try removing jscalibrator, Lucidio - including its configuration. It has a nasty tendency to disable the directional controls of a controller in other applications, even though it shows them as OK in its own gui.

You have a Playstation 2 controller, zuzuzzzip, which may have pressure sensitive buttons. This is an entirely different problem to Lucidio's.
