Those who are waiting for Joost....

    ...don't hold your breath.

I've been a long time Ubuntu user (since 6.01 I believe) and a long time Linux lover. I was amongst the first let in to try out Joost (a popular tv streaming service. When I switched to Linux I was amongst the many asking Joost for a Linux version and was ignored.

I submitted a support ticket asking for a response about Linux and I got one back. I've also since then started a Digg article to raise awareness, hence my linking to it. I will however link directly to the forums as well, but I hope to get everyone to Digg up the Digg article too.

well, we can see what happens, hopefully they will release a client, but im not betting on it.

In the meantime, miro (formerly democracy) has a linux client.

For broadcast TV shows, hulu.com works fine on linux, the only problem is that they link to some shows that they dont host (abc for example) that do not support linux.

Why not give zattoo a try? I feel it's very good, they've obviously considered Linux support for a change!

I too am a Linux user for a long time and one of the first to use joost. ( back when it was TVP )

I remember that they were promising a Linux version early on but that soon was just never talked about again.

I just stopped using it all together and never plan to even if a Linux client comes out.

Babblegum works on wine with no problem and I use it occasionally but it really does not have much that interests me.

    The same goes for Miro.

They are both good but lacking in much full length or quality content, though Azureus Well Vuse really has some good stuff but you have to pay for a lot of it. The prices are reasonable though.

Web based streaming is pretty much the way to go for IPTV on Linux.

Unfortunately that is not an option for me in the US but if your country is allowed that sounds quite good.
