I've been wondering this for a while, how would one make Warcraft 3 run through a proxy? as in, connect to bnet through a proxy.
tried changing the game port but it didn't work.

something else that has been bothering me . . .
with Cedega, and others, it appears the ONLY way to run WC3 effectivly is with -opengl. what's up with that?
my CPU usage goes up to 100% when I have warcraft 3 running in open gl, and not only does it look horrible, but it's heating up my computer? really, this is ridiculous.
if I've missed something here about cedega, please inform me. I thought it could run Warcraft 3 with Direct X and /not/ suck up all my CPU.
thanks to those who reply.

Are you aware of the fact that the free/libre open source program "Wine" actually runs War3?
Why use Cedega?
yes I am well aware of it. Cedega supports direct 3d, that's why. I'm trying to figure out why it wont work though. don't try to sway me towards Wine because it just doesn't work well for games, it uses 100% of my CPU when I run wc3. likewise with Cedega for some reason, even when I use opengl.

It's been a while since I tried WC3 with Wine and opengl but I recall it being v. close to what it looked like on Windows..
it looks much different running in open gl, the Frozen Throne screen is like, bluer and just different from running it regularly. that and I just don't like it, why isn't Cedega using it's direct3d to run it? it makes very little sense to me.
could it be because I have an ATI card?

ive run wc3 through wine with and without the opengl switch for about 4 years on 3 different PCs, it looks better with the opengl switch in linux and worse with the opengl switch under windows, ive never had a 100% cpu bug, do you have the official ati drivers or the radeon drivers? try using atis drivers if you arent.

want to Give each GTK program its own theme? well look Here
yes, I'm using fglrx. and it looks the same on linux with the open gl switch as it does on windows with the opengl switch.

all i can assume is thats its something to do with ATI's poor support of the opengl standard comapred to other cards.
