A number of posts from other threads are unfaily being moved to this one:

By moving posts there, that thread (as well as the other originating thread(s) are becoming mangled and confusing for people who do not understand where the posts come from. This is not respectful to the users who posted those messages.

I think it would be respectful to mention it in either of the affected threads when one post (or more) is moved from one thread to the next.

Furthermore, that thread is locked. Many users want to discuss the issue. It is pointless to move posts to a closed thead, no?

The original thread (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=317953) now contains more posts regarding the topic we want to discuss than the original topic. Surely, discussing whether discussing a topic is legal or not is not illegal in any country? And how does it violate any forum rule?

And to conclude, the last paragraph of the latest posthttp://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php...4&postcount=31) in that thread only provokes more discussion - however it is expressedly prohibitted and those who risk it are threatened of getting an infraction.

This is all a mess. Can you please either unlock the thread or explain exactly why we cannot discuss the topic of how sub judice does or does not affect these forums?

With all due respect Azz , this subject has been discussed and discussed. Explanations have been given. The original thread has been reopened and further explanation given in that thread.

Forum staff have stated the forum position.

If people do not wish to accept our explanation and position that is their perogative. Nothing will be gained in going over the same ground time and time again.

It is time to agree to disagree and move on.

Eh? Virtually no discussion occurred. No questions were answered. Theads were locked, posts were moved. That only frustrated more users.

A discussion works two-ways.

The original thread has been reopened and further explanation given in that thread.

If sufficient and satisfactory explanation was given, we would not even be here.

Forum staff have stated the forum position.

Please indicate exactly where it has been stated why no one is allowed to discuss whether sub judice affects a web forum or not.

If we were actually covering some ground, I could agree with you. Sadly, this is not the case.

Will you or will you not allow a thread to debate the issue of whether sub judice applies to a web forum or not? I think many people are interested in coming to a conlusion on that issue and feel it would make the forums better.

That is completely understandable. I doubt the thread will become a slam-fest, and I hope it will be a productive discussion. Please contribute to it, if you like.
