I no longer live in Las Cruces, however I have family there and visit occasionally.

In case people are interested, I wanted to mention the Mesilla Valley Linux Users Group which has several Ubuntu users.

    Exclamation in Deming

Deming here, an hour away here, semi-newbie.

Just getting going with Dapper Drake; have tried several distros and Ubuntu is definitely my choice, but have (I'd say this is the norm) problems trying to grasp the how-to's of various modems with Linux, so still having to use ******* (I WILL escape!) to access the www; making some headway so maybe today??? Neither DSL or cable are available here, stuck with dialup but might soon get WildBlue.
