The URL you provided has a link to the tarball (source code) of the Thunar version that looks like this. I'd wait for it to become official if I were you, though, unless you like playing with experimental software.

But it's alright, Ma, if I can't please him.

i did notice the tarball, but was told it was just a mockup so didn't bother. i'm using thunar as my main FM, so i'm abit scared to try it out. BUT, i've got a VM i can try it out in 8) i'll try it out tomorrow

    I want this one: http://evidence.sourceforge.net/

It's been in development for years, just like the rest of E17. I built it once but it was too buggy to use. Maybe it's better now.

you could try something like krusader http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=10214

edit: or you can use konqueror and use the split view function. Just right click on the bottom part of the window.

then it can look like this

and if you do this a couple of times it can look like this

then save it using the settings --> Save view profile button

you can here create your own profile for this particular type of konqueror setup

It is Baghira indeed. But don't install the version found in the repositories. You need to compile from source, otherwise you won't be able to configure the file browser. It's all KDE.
