I just tried playing PlaneShift

PlaneShift works all right and I was so excited about how the game should be like.So I happily create my character, and after waiting for the loading to finish,I'm bombarded with these very slow frame rates!! And the main problem is that I'm not sure what might be causing PlaneShift to go so slow!

OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: RADEON 9600 Generic
OpenGL version string: 2.0.6011 (8.28.8)

Am I supposed to be using ATI or the normal FGRLX driver?

Any help on making this game run smoothly will be helpful!

I would ask on the Planeshift forums for a good answer. I do know that when I had a Radeon X300 installed I had to use the fglrx driver and not the ati/radeon driver or the game wouldn't load.

If you don't get an answer on the Planeshift forums you could just try installing the fglrx driver if you're comfortable with that and see if it makes the difference. Look in the Multimedia and Video forum for HowTo's on installing fglrx.
