Would be a toss up between The original Unreal Tournament and Counter Strike/Condition Zero.

The Source versions of CS and CZ are just not the same - imho

Americas Army ver 2.5 for Linux is great fun and yes it is no longer supported by AA:O But the Great Linux hardcore gamers keep servers going for on-line fraggin Lots of maps to play and good Army training. How-to on installing after downloading

Under linux though, hmm maybe cube 2? and of course enemy territory and its true combat mod.

I agree, the battlefield series is a wonder. I also like warhammer 40K, nexuiz and my all time favorite
