aysiu, I wanted to ask you about something off topic that is on your website, but I you do not want people to contact you off the forum by email, private messages, etc. Isn't better to use dd than to use PartImage? PartImage may seem simpiler at first. However dd can do what you need with one command. It's not difficult to learn and a HowTo for making an image of a partition with it would be shorter. To write the image back onto a hard disk, you would need to reverse if and of. Look here.

Not everything is needed. Mostly just the one command for making the image. That is large because it describes many of the uses of DD. I'd prefer to use it because it is included with most installs of Linux. Not only that, but you would not have to go through the trouble of installing partimage, setting up new repos and keys, etc.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll investigate dd. I tend to favor GUI methods in my tutorials, but if I can figure out dd quickly, I might add that as a separate tutorial and a link from PartImage.
