    I prefer Ubuntu. Mandriva seems a little too user friendly. Does that sound weird?

    You can, however, see how XGL and on some systems AIGLX runs on your system with the live CD.
    Be sure to get the Gnome or KDE version and not what's called the Gnome FREE version because I don't think it has 3D effects--I could be wrong, though.
    Isn't Mandriva One a stripped down version?

    Hmmmm... It very well could be, but it still seems to offer a lot. I'm not really that sure because I'm an Ubuntu user myself.

    I got AIGLX working on my bud's laptop today with an Intel chipset and it is very nice. Very very nice.

    you can try the berry Linux
    it's KDE but it's runs XGL out of the box and the Live cd without the need to install anything !

    I can't stand KDE! (No offense) But seriously, I love Ubuntu and don't plan on leaving it. I was just curious of what's out there.
