Is anyone of you using a certain method to render fonts in a smoother way?
simplicity is perfection
Well I've got an LCD flat panel so 'Subpixel Smoothing', I think thats what its called.

Mabye it's just me, but doesn't Verdana look like a copy of {DejaVu/Bitstream Vera} Sans?
(DejaVu/Bitstream Vera are the same thing, DejaVu has more glyphs though).

A Fedora user
ive been using gentium and i think its great. I also like bitstream vera
In former times I had a great file which contained the font Lucida Grande. I used it @ 7 pt under SuSE 10.0 and it looked awesome. Never ever found an equivalent to it.

Used to use Lucida Grande, but now use Lucida Sans Unicode (easier to read). Back on Windows, I used Segoe UI (the new Vista font) but it looks too thick the way it's rendered within Ubuntu.
