Ummmmmm where did you get those "1"'s from?

If you use:

own_window_type override

then

own_window_hints undecorated,below,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager

has NO effect, therefore what you want are these three lines:

own_window yes  #put conky in it's own windo
own_window_transparent yes  #make that window transparent
own_window_hints undecorated,below,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager

That last one:
below: Keep the conky window below other open programs
sticky: glued into place, pardon the technical terms.
skip_taskbar: keep it off the taskbar
skip_pager: keep it off the pager.

While doing some research on my transparency issue, someone suggested that if you use own_window 1 and own_window_transparent 1, it will render the conky transparent. I just hadn't changed it back before I posted. I'll test everything else and see if that makes any difference.

try using these settings in your conkyrc:

own_window_type normal

I just edited my conkymain with this code, and now it has a black border along the right hand side and the bottom that's about 5 pixels wide. I also have a border about 1 pixel wide on the left and the top.

Fixed the black border issue.

Now I just need to fix the overlapping in the weather conky and get the horizontal calendar working. Thank you all so much!

the thing here is own_window and own_window_transparent are called "Boolean" in the documentation... this means that yes and no are valid answers, but so are 1 and 0 (being the binary versions of on and off, Yes and No)

I took computer programming in college about 10 years ago. I just haven't kept up with it.

I fixed all of that, now I can't seem to get the horizontal calendar working correctly. It shows the month & year, but it doesn't have any dates and days.

Try this, add 5-6 blank lines between TEXT and the first line of the formatting.
