Yeah, Windows text end of lines.
Open it up in an editor and chose "Save as..." where change line endings to Unix and save.

Or you could have any other non-printable character at the ends which you can't see at normal text editor but will be visible under Open/Libre Office when you chose "View non-printable characters" from the "View" menu.

    Any idea?
Could be your config is saved with Windows line endings.
Open your config in gedit and choose File > Save As
and make sure the line ending is Unix/Linux.

just had a quick look through the files and bad news about that setup..
it uses conky forecast for its weather, (conkyrc2) which is no longer an option

the other parts should be functional

read the readme, delete conkyrc2 from the startup script

you might need to edit the positions for each conky

don't expect a completely smooth process to get it up and running

have you successfully run and edited a conkyrc before?

To varying levels, yes. Conky just does what you tell it to do. The code script aka the .conkyrc file, is just a bunch of orders you tell the actual program Conky to do.

You don't have to know much, just something. It's not complicated, there's just a lot of text that pass by your eyeballs while you're looking at it. A lot of that just kinda blurs together as you focus on what you want to do/change with what you've got. Beyond that? it's nothing. Easy stuff. And there's always a lot to read. Not so much because it's hard, but always because there's always more possibilities on the horizon for what you can do.

This, in a nutshell, is what we call Conky Addiction. You just get compelled to change/modify one more tiny thing to make it just right. That change leads to you learning something, which leads to you changing something, to you waking up in the middle of the night muttering some code you just thought up, and the sudden, uncontrollable need to try it out and share it with the community. I want MY cigarettes nurse Ratchet!

It's not that hard.(unless you get into more advanced scripting). The VinDSL conky and this tutorial really helped me considerably.
