    ive learned that with the console comand "df" i can see my file system usage and when mounted my windows partition appears in media/disc.

    Code:

    so .. this is my question/problem is .. (are) .. how do i recognize my widows partition ?? by "/dev/sda1" or by .. "/media/disk"

    how do i do an if then else .. in the .conkyrc file ... so it shows the stats of this partition only when mounted ?!..

    can i automount this paritition by editing /etc/fstab file ? (no sure if i really want that .. i just want to know how to do it in case one the i wanted to do it so.. )

    i reallize that are lots of questions in this response.. i apologize for that..just trying to learn a lot of linux

    and of course .. this is my .conkyrc file

    Code:
    ${offset 240}${color slate grey}ROOT:    ${color }${fs_free /}/${fs_size /}
    ${offset 240}${fs_bar 3,100 /}
    ${offset 240}${color slate grey}HOME:  ${color }${fs_free /home}/${fs_size /home}
    ${offset 240}${fs_bar 3,100 /home}
    ${offset 240}${color slate grey}WINDOZE:  ${color }${fs_free /media/disk}/${fs_size /media/disk}
    ${offset 240}${fs_bar 3,100 /media/disk}
    its a simple one and the screen ..looks like ..
    I can't help with the "if" string, but the blue code I added in is about what the code to show that partition would look like.

    Now, if only I could figure out how to automount my two WIN partitions and skip the password check on mine...

    Hi Bruce,
    I like your new Screenshot really well... (what is present also of me !).
    Where do you have the picture here?

    Hi erictherev, thank you for your explanation to the display of the CPU frequency! If almost already thought to me such a thing.

    Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

    I think I'm gonna stop messing about with Conky now, I've started putting useless things on my desktop, the rings in white all show the time in different formats, the analogue is set to run backwards.

    this is the clock_rings.lua if anyone is interested.

    Code:
    --[[
    Clock Rings by londonali1010 (2009)

    This script draws percentage meters as rings, and also draws clock hands if you want! It is fully customisable; all options are described in the script. This script is based off a combination of my clock.lua script and my rings.lua script.

    IMPORTANT: if you are using the 'cpu' function, it will cause a segmentation fault if it tries to draw a ring straight away. The if statement on line 145 uses a delay to make sure that this doesn't happen. It calculates the length of the delay by the number of updates since Conky started. Generally, a value of 5s is long enough, so if you update Conky every 1s, use update_num>5 in that if statement (the default). If you only update Conky every 2s, you should change it to update_num>3; conversely if you update Conky every 0.5s, you should use update_num>10. ALSO, if you change your Conky, is it best to use "killall conky; conky" to update it, otherwise the update_num will not be reset and you will get an error.

    To call this script in Conky, use the following (assuming that you save this script to ~/scripts/rings.lua):
    	lua_load ~/scripts/clock_rings.lua
    	lua_draw_hook_pre clock_rings
