    Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

    Quick question regarding Conky, whilst I've seen people use a translucent background image (or colour) in their displays I've yet to figure out how to achieve it. Apart from this one issue I've pretty much nailed how I want my Conky to look... Well for now anyway!

    Any tips or links?

    Thanks!

    Oops! Gotta check that out.

    CHIMO!

    EDIT:

    I tried these three lines:

    Code:
    ${font LCDMono:bold:size=9}
    1
    ${execpi 60 DJS=`date +%_d`; cal | sed ‘1d’ | sed ‘/./!d’ | sed ’s/$/ /’ | fold -w 21 | sed -n ‘/^.\{21\}/p’ | sed ’s/^/${alignc} /’ | sed /” $DJS “/s/” $DJS “/” “‘${color2}’”$DJS”‘${color}’” “/}

    ${execpi 60 DJS='date +%_d'; cal | sed '1d' | sed '/./!d' | sed 's/$/ /' | fold -w 21 | sed -n '/^.\{21\}/p' | sed 's/^/${alignc} /' | sed /" $DJS "/s/" $DJS "/" "'${color2}'"$DJS"'${color}'" "/}
    Lines 1 & 2 are from the previous post.
    The third line I changed:

    `date +%_d` to the normal '

    So now the question is how do I know where to use the ` and ΄ and not the plain '.

    Also it looks like Conky Hardcore! transposed those characters to something else. {sign} Always a problem.

    CHIMO!

    There are at least 3 ways to do that:

    set
    Code:
    own_window_transparent no
    choose color and define transparency in compiz

    Or use xftalpha and use a normal .ttf font
    Code:
    use_xft yes
    xftfont moconkyfontone:size=30
    xftalpha .7
    and
    Code:
    ${font}A
    or see the link posted above by Crinos512 and find out how to use the font we made

    All but the first method are used in my conky, see the screenshot

    That's exactly what I was looking for thanks... Spent the last few days trying various tricks (much of t-mo had suggested as well...). So back to playing with Conky later.

    Just got to consider what's better the script or the font... The script would be more elegant.

    So the font selection comes before the actual execpi command.. Thanks for all of the help! I'm actually making two conkies... one for the calendar/weather on the left side of the screen, and on the right, my system monitoring conky. I'll post a screenshot as soon as I'm done putting the calendar on there!
