You can set 'maximum_width ###' before text if that's what you mean.

Why does my conky use so much cpu power?

What is your update interval set to?

    # Update interval in seconds
    update_interval 1.0

Mine is set to update once per second, conky rarely uses more than .25% (one quarter of one percent) cpu time for me.

    Conky: drawing to single buffer

    In terminal run :

    sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

    Look for:

    Section "Module"

Make sure that section has the following text:

    Load "dbe"

    That enables double-buffering.

    Hope this helps...

can someone post just the code for their weather script and where i need to put the .sh file? when im in the same directory as conky.rc i see several of them, some with tildes in front. i saw the same with the .sh files, so wanted to start from scratch in fear of editing the wrong file.

Or if you want a one liner weather in format [current temp, current condition > tomorrow low to hight, tomorrow condition] I have that too.

Yup, sure did. Double-buffering works like a charm and the flickering is all gone.

    Thanks!

Now, all I need to do is get it to show my external IP. Any ideas on this, anyone?

    cheers
