    Does anyone know why the numbers and letters aren't replaced it updates? Like when the CPU monitor goes from 5 % to 6 %, the 6 is displayed overtop the 5.

    Great thread, though.

    u working with beryl or compiz??

    if those I think u need to declare conky in the "widget layer". try also to start the conky after the start of beryl/compiz..

    Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

    Well, I am using compiz-fusion, but I got that fixed. I still have a problem, though. If I try adding Conky to sessions, when I start it, it looks like it is floating above the screen, but normally it's flush against the desktop background. When I open a window, Conky is shown overtop the new window. For example, if I open a webpage, then Conky will still be displayed overtop my webpage. Anyone know how to fix that?

    Thanks.

    That's because conky is being loaded before compiz fusion. To fix this, make the following script called ConkySleep.sh (sudo gedit /home/username/.local/ConkySleep.sh) and then in sessions, for conky, put "/home/username/.local/ConkySleep.sh.

    Code:
    #!/bin/bash

    sleep 15 &&
    conky -d -c /home/USERNAME/.conkyrc &
    exit

    Thanks Purpose, but that didn't work. Conky didn't come up at all when I did that.

    Good catch, haha! Yeah, I stopped listening to most of what I own for a while. I listen to music so much that I hear every song way too often. Karma Police was one I could handle listening to again.

    Coincidentally, I'm listening to NIN right now. The Year Zero album is growing on me.

    Year Zero is awesome, rivaling Downward Spiral at the top of NIN albums for me at least. =]
