I don't think there is support for
    Code:
    $fs_used_perc
all I can find on http://conky.sourceforge.net/variables.html is
    Code:
    $fs_free_perc
either way, you wouldn't get the result you are looking for because you didn't tell it which filesystem to display. should be something like
    Code:
    ${fs_free_perc /home}
and if there is support for the
    Code:
    $fs_used_perc
it would have to be written as
    Code:
    ${fs_used_perc /home}
it would be nice to have that variable though.

It seems you ran out of buffer for the text display. Use double_buffer along with some other variable to set your buffer size.

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

My switch to Xmonad gave me an excuse to redesign my Conky from the ground up. It was heavily inspired by the excellent Conky urukrama posted a couple days ago. When school starts in the fall, I'll add a grade portion in the bottom-left corner. Otherwise, I'm loving this.

    top center:
    Code:
    use_xft yes
    xftfont LiberationMono

    update_interval 60
    total_run_times 0
    double_buffer yes

    own_window yes
    own_window_transparent yes
    own_window_type desktop
    own_window_hints undecorate,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager

    draw_shades no
    draw_outline no
    draw_borders no
    stippled_borders 0
    border_margin 6
    border_width 1

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

Well after messing with my conky and restarting from scratch a few times, I think I've made a good one. It's based off of conkys that I've seen here and other places.

    file:
    Code:
    # maintain spacing between certain elements
    use_spacer yes

    # set to yes if you want tormo to be forked in the background
    #background yes

    use_xft yes

    # Xft font when Xft is enabled
    xftfont monospace:pixelsize=8

    # Text alpha when using Xft
    xftalpha 1
    mail_spool $MAIL

    # Update interval in seconds
    update_interval 5.0

    # Create own window instead of using desktop (required in nautilus)
    background yes
    own_window yes
    own_window_type override
    own_window_transparent yes
    own_window_colour black
    double_buffer yes
    own_window_hints undecorated,below,sticky,skip_taskbar,skip_pager

    # Use double buffering (reduces flicker, may not work for everyone)
    double_buffer yes

    # Minimum size of text area
    minimum_size 260 5
    maximum_width 170

Most people probably wouldn't like the colors, so the easiest way to change them (since there are a lot of tags which are the same) would be your text editor's find+replace tool.

EDIT: Added the Arch logo to the top and changed the colors to the ArchLinux colors. Super shmexy now. Screenshot has been updated to reflect it and displays the configured conky standalone with a pink bg for contrast.

EDIT: (again) Fixed the line with the arch logo using ${hr 2}. Screenshot updated.

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

    Thank you martynp

I've been "tweaking" again ... and the results are:

    I'm nuts!

ImageShack resized it, it is supposed to be 1280x1024.

Running 3 conkys and loving it.

The files I have included here are:
    1. ~/.startconky
    2. ~/Conky/conkymain (on the right)
    3. ~/Conky/conkyforcast (on the left)
    4. ~/Conky/WEB_USE_conkyemail (center bottom - no name or password)
    5. ~/Conky/scripts/SP_Forecast.py (Spanish)
    6. ~/Conky/scripts/EN_Forecast.py (English)
    7. ~/Conky/scripts/mail/conkyEmail.py
    8. ~/Conky/scripts/myweather.template
    9. ~/Conky/scripts/argentina.template
    10. ~/Conky/scripts/otherweather.template

Also, in my ~/.bashrc file I use these aliases for conky:
    Code:
    # my aliases
    alias conke='(gedit ~/.startconky ~/Conky/conkymain ~/Conky/conkyforecast ~/Conky/conkyemail ~/Conky/scripts/SP_Forecast.py ~/Conky/scripts/EN_Forecast.py ~/Conky/scripts/mail/conkyEmail.py ~/Conky/scripts/myweather.template ~/Conky/scripts/argentina.template ~/Conky/scripts/otherweather.template &)'
    alias cia='killall conky && ./.startconky'
    alias killc='killall conky'
    alias stc='~/.startconky'
that I had to edit after this session of "tweaking".

    Enjoy.

    Hi urukrama,

What is that pager / task manager type thing before conky ?

Is it some kind of text base pager ?
