    Sure is,
    Code:
    -p, --pause=SECS pause for SECS seconds at startup before doing anything
    Code:
    conky -p 25 -c /path/to/your/conky_configfile
    delays 25 seconds.

    There is also the old stand by that I still use from time to time...

    Code:
    sleep 20 && conky -c ~/conkyrc
    Old habits are hard to break.

    You'll note my conky isn't indexing properly off the menu bar. If I autohide the menubar I can see that it is positioned off the top of the screen rather than the menu bar. Ooops. Usually happens after a restart. A temporary fix I use is:

    $ sudo killall conky
    <enter password>
    $ conky

    This kills conky, then restarts it. There's probably a way to make it delay in starting up or make the terminal command a one-liner but I'm not aware of it.
    Blasphemy! No one 'wants' to be cured!!!!

    Also you donit need "sudo" ... just "killall conky"

    If you only have the one conky and it's at ~/.conkyrc you can do that all in one line:

    Code:
    killall conky && conky &
    && allows for a second command
    & returns you to the terminal

    Make a bash alias (Kill-Start Conky):
    Code:
    alias ksc='killall conky && conky'
    I use 'kfc' - Kentucky Fried Conky - I love the spices.

    The top 2 lines in my conkys look something like this:
    test.conky
    Code:
    # killall conky && conky -c /media/5/conky/test.conky &
    # pkill -xf "conky -c /media/5/conky/test.conky" &
    That second line ... kills just that one conky ... the others still run, thanks to GG.

    Also by putting in the delay, as per Habitual and Petro Dawg pointed out, it will give your system time to get the panel on top running before conky draws to the screen.

    I have to start testing the -p option, I always use the sleep command.

    Looks good, but reminds me a bit of Win8 metro.
