    No, it does nothing, nor gives error, but does not put any image in the background
    This is my configuration, routes and names are correct

    Code:
    #!/bin/bash
    HOUR=$(date +%H)
    case "$HOUR" in

    # amanecer

    You would have to use a command specific to xfce.
    I don't use xfce so can't help with that.

    The gsettings command should work when logged into an ubuntu or Gnome session.

    What session are you in...
    Code:
    echo $DESKTOP_SESSION
    Code:
    glen@Quantal:~$ echo $DESKTOP_SESSION
    ubuntu

    Don't know why it's not working.
    Works from within the ubuntu or gnome session in my 12.10 install.

    The gsettings command should be changing this value in dconf-editor.

    Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

    @ stinkeye - GREAT ONE! I'm going to stea... errr ... C4 that and see if I can use it for other things.

    I'm not a gnome user but ... and not fluent in bash, struggling with it ... an idea from another bash script:

    bash output:
    Code:
     21 Apr 13 | 09:21:09 ~
             $ echo `conkyForecast --location=ARBA0009 -d CT --startday 0`
    Clear
    Direct call:
    Code:
     21 Apr 13 | 09:21:11 ~
             $ conkyForecast --location=ARBA0009 -d CT --startday 0
    Clear

     21 Apr 13 | 09:21:19 ~
             $
    Could your "stinkeye.sh" (for the sake of a name) be modified to grab that "Clear" from conkyForecast using the time of day as well and then:
    1. changing the background, and / or
    2. just changing any image in conky?
    ie ${if_match ${execi 600 stinkeye.sh}=Clear}${image /path to image/$sunrise-clear.png -p 0,0 -s 1024x346}
    1024x346 covers the transparent windscreen - see attached.

    Match both outputs: sunrise-clear, sunrise-cloudy, sunrise-rain, sunrise-snow, etc etc
    example: Partly_Cloudy.png is shown below ...
    Code:
    msgid "Partly Cloudy"
    msgstr "Parcialmente Nublado"
    Conditions (from the English/Spanish poet file) to match:
