Took Windows 8 Conky and Adjusted it to my liking. I like this style cause i can move the blocks anywhere with out being stuck just moving a whole conky strip.

Windows 8 now has Desktop Info: Conky for Windows - we are not alone!

Metro Style Conky by ~kant-o (your link) is a really neat idea I'll have to play with that. But I'll use a tinted semi-transparent background with "draw-bg.lua" rather than solid colours. Personally I prefer conkys that are transparent or "semi-transparent"

Left [Alt] + [left click] on a conky and any conky can be moved, or maybe that depends on the config above TEXT - not sure, but mine work. So it makes sense if you want to move things to build conky in blocks or "sections". I always run multiple conkys.

Disk Utility is showing 30C/86F. Considering I just fired it up 15 minutes ago thats about right.
Last post It had been on for several hours and showed 115F or 118F?

Edit: Now showing 43C/109F.

Machine is a 2003 year model.

Got bored today and did something I've been wanting to do for a looooong time.

Finally got my Pithos music player info pulled into my Conky. Thanks to an old post here (in which arclance and dk75 gave some awesome advice) and a bit of my "magic" touch, I was able fix and adapt some code into my standard "disappear when not in use" style conky.

You are trying to put an object above TEXT, it will not work. All objects should be below TEXT.

Welcome to my obsessive compulsive disorder world of overly super extreme code comments ... Seriously, my comments take up much more space than the code it's self.

Code block 6 refers to the 6th group of outputs in my conky (pithos information). 1st is Distro information, 2nd is CPU info, and so on. For example if you were not interested in having network information displayed, you could just delete the code block #5 pertaining to that information (which is clearly marked with a Start and an End) without worrying about messing up some other portion of the output.

In this particular case I came up with

${if_empty ${exec pgrep pithos}}${else}...

to check for Pithos' process ID number. If it exists (not empty, pithos playing) the remaining "Pithos text block" will then run. If there is no process ID number (pithos not running) then nothing gets displayed.

I have disappearing USB drive information when not plugged in, all that info is in older posts in this thread. And it requires alteration depending on your system setup.

I also set "available system updates" to disappear when there are none, using...

I have no idea if that works on other systems without alteration.

I doubt you'd like these codes "as is", because they do shrink and grow the Conky in length.

Ah i see, that makes sense.
I've 8-9 conky windows but all the conky configuration files use the same variables, windows settings ect.. so i was hoping to load files (just insert plain text would be ok) into the configuration file of conky "before conky reads it" so i don't have to manually change all the files when i make a color change for example.

I don't see any useful command that can be used to do what i described above. Any ideas?
