Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

I have a simple one too, just one line with some information. The only problem I have is that when some of the text changes, the whole line gets shifted (back and forth), which is somehow annoying. I want to have the text aligned on the right, but somehow I'm having some trouble getting it to work (I had to manually put a gap). I've played with the alignment but with no luck.

The other problem I'm having is that all the icons in my desktop disappear when I run conky. I guess that's something simple, but I haven't yet found what's happening.

Here's my .conkyrc file. (I'm actually not sure everything is right...)

    Code:
    # Conky sample configuration

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

I used code from this page mostly. for those of you wondering, it's a dual monitor setup with exaile's Desktop Cover providing the Album art.also the second screen is considerably smaller, thus the "floating" panel bar on the right.

    Simple but very efficient.

    Code:
    # Create own window instead of using desktop (required in nautilus)
    own_window yes
    own_window_hints undecorated,below,sticky,skip_taskbar

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

I would like to just say Thank You for this thread, as I had always seen conky running in screenshots, but never knew what it was (and never bothered to ask) or how to get it, but when I found this thread, I got my answer and more than enough examples to create a conkrc file and get it running for myself. Thank you.

Putting the line in your conky will do nothing unless you actually have the font.
