    Hi all:

    Here is my conky:

    Just a few questions: What do I use to change the color of the text? On some of my backgrounds, it dissappears.
    How can I change the font and font size? I went into /usr/share/fonts, checked out some of the fonts I have there, replaced the lines in my conky, but the font stays the same. Is there some other place I should be looking for installed fonts? It's much easier for me to read larger fonts, and I'd really like to change the font style every now and then to harmonize with my wallpaper.
    One last question-whenever I close a screen, there's a brief partial outline of the square, no picture, just the outline, usually of the right side- then it vanishes. Anyone know what causes this, and how to get rid of it?
    Thanks in advance!

    Check out the config_settings for all settings "above" TEXT and variables for settings below TEXT.

    Code:
    xftfont sans:bold:size=16
    TEXT
    ${font monofur:size=25}HI!{font} there
    Setting a font, style and size above TEXT makes that the "default" for conky

    After TEXT ${font monofur:size=25} changes the default font until there is a command "turning off that font" ( ${font} ) so:

    "HI" would be monofur size=25, and
    "there" would be sans:bold:size=16

    Same with colour:

    Code:
    default_color white
    color0 black
    color1 blue
    TEXT
    ${font monofur:size=25}${color green}HI${color1}!${color}{font} there

    Things are going better, I call the convert script with images_meteo.lua witch can be very useful. And I set the script update only every 30 minutes.
    This conky is "twin" with the background...or "generated"...sorry

    x1,y1=pt(clock_centerx,clock_centery,length*distance_to_mid,degrees-(hand_mid_width/2))
    cairo_line_to (cr,x1,y1)

    cairo_arc(cr,clock_centerx,clock_centery,hand_center_width,(degrees)*(math.pi/180),(degrees+180)*(math.pi/180))
    cairo_fill(cr)
    end
    to use it you need to do a bit of editing
    using ragamatrix's code as posted above
    was like this:
    Code:
    -- DRAW HOUR HAND
    -- get hours minutes seconds as just seconds and draw it
    hsecs=h_to_s+m_to_s+seconds
    -- calculate degrees for each second
    hsec_degs=hsecs*(360/(60*60*clock_type_E))-- use equation ~ eliminate decimals
    -- set radius to calculate hand points
    radius=hh_length_E
    -- set start line coordinates, the center of the circle
    cairo_move_to (cr,clock_centerx,clock_centery)
    -- calculate coordinates for end of minute hand
    point=(math.pi/180)*hsec_degs
    x=0+radius*(math.sin(point))
    y=0-radius*(math.cos(point))
    -- describe the line we will draw
    cairo_line_to (cr,clock_centerx+x,clock_centery+y)
    -- set up line attributes and draw line
    cairo_set_line_width (cr,hh_width_E)
    cairo_set_source_rgba (cr,hhr,hhg,hhb,hha)
    cairo_set_line_cap  (cr, hh_cap)
    cairo_stroke (cr)
    this is how it changes
    Code:
    -- DRAW HOUR HAND
    -- get hours minutes seconds as just seconds
    hsecs=h_to_s+m_to_s+seconds
    -- calculate degrees for each second
    hsec_degs=hsecs*(360/(60*60*clock_type_A))-- use equation ~ eliminate decimals
    -- set radius to calculate hand points
    -- set up line attributes
    cairo_set_line_width (cr,hh_width_A)
    cairo_set_source_rgba (cr,hhr,hhg,hhb,hha)
    cairo_set_line_cap  (cr, hh_cap)
    --NEW HAND DRAWING CODE ##################################################
    --call hand drawing function
    hands(

    HI Mr Peachy !

    Thank you very much for this code but I've got only one hand I don't know how to fix it ?

    you have to look through the code for where it is drawing the minutes hand
    then replace that code in a similar way

    the original code to draw the hour hand and minute hand are very similar so the process of replacing both shouldnt be too hard

    let me know if you get stuck and ill post the exact changes
