Here's my latest attempt after much browsing on the web. I found the .conkyrc file and just made a couple alterations to "fit" my laptop. I didn't even try to add a weather forecast to it, seemed pretty difficult at best. The weather display is detached from the Cairo dock and is just an applet that came with Cairo.
The lua script was to large to upload as a txt file.
I'd love to give credit where credit is due, however, I've lost the original files I downloaded in order to get this working. I do have the lua script if anyone should want it.
I also had to change the Startup Applications to have the conkyrc start after a delay of 5 seconds. If it started on login, it was to fast and overlapped the upper panel. I accomplished this by editing how conky started in the Startup Applications.
I'm not a Super User by any means, but I'll try to answer any questions on how I got it to work...
sh -c "sleep 5s; conky -c /home/jed/.conky/conkyrc"
Because I've posted fewer than 50 times, I can not change what it says on the left. I'm actually on Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin.
