    Nope.
    I'm using Compiz and if true transparency is on then not only background is transparent but a Conky text inside is too.
    And I had no problem with original Stalhein config at all.

    But then I'm not using Ubuntu/Unity and I have always newest beta nVidia driver, so there is nothings obvious in Conky world...

    Question Problem with conky display disappearing

    Hi all.
    I've got a small conky file that I've been testing on a system in my office. It is running on a RedHat system using Gnome desktop.

    I've recently installed conky and the config file on a different system using the exact same OS setup only slightly different hardware.

    The script works fine, but if I left click the desktop the conky display just blinks out of existence even though it is still running in the process list.

    Here is the .conkyrc file:
    Code:
    own_window yes
    own_window_type desktop
    own_window_transparent yes
    double_buffer yes
    use_spacer none
    update_interval 1
    draw_shades no
    maximum_width 200
    minimum_size 300
    use_xft yes
    draw_outline no
    draw_borders no
    draw_graph_borders yes
    uppercase no
    default_color grey
    #font Sans Serif:size=8
    font Monospace:size=8
    alignment top_right
    gap_x 10
    gap_y 20

    ##########################################################

    TEXT
    $hr
    ${color white}$alignc CGGVeritas$color
    ${voffset -5}$hr
    ${color yellow}${offset 5}User${color}   :${offset 5}${color #e9c703}obs${color}@${color red}ARCSEG1
    ${color yellow}${offset 5}Kernel${color} :${offset 1}$color $kernel ($machine)
    ${color}${offset 5}Uptime :${color green} $uptime$color
    $hr
    ${color #e9c703}RAID Storage:
    ${color yellow} /raid1${color} : USED     ${color green}FREE${color}
    ${offset 65}${color yellow}${fs_used_perc /raid1}%    ${color magenta}${fs_free /raid1}
    ${color green}${fs_bar /}
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Well, when I loaded up the .conkyrc file in vi, I saw that my last edit didn't actually save... must have been a case of fast fingers.
    override actually did the trick.

    Thanks for the feedback guys.
    Much appreciated.

    is it possible to get syntax highlighting for conky rc's?

    i googled something about it being available for vim, so i downloaded Gvim but nothing doing. found an old script that should be doing that for vim but can't get it to work.

    but honestly gedit would be better...
