Indeed you did. I wasn't complaining on that quote, so much as giving a reason why. If I hadn't I'd just sound like an old geezer telling the kids to get off his lawn. There's a rhyme to my reasoning, that's all.

In order to display fan speed and cpu temp do you have to have acpi in your bios?

Normally it should output: "${color red}XX% ESSID" for an unsecured network and "XX% ESSID" for a WEP/WPA encrypted network, one line per network.

See screenshot... Unfortunately I only have encrypted networks to show off...
    Update:
I got some unencrypted networks today, and I needed to correct the command, the working one is:
    Code:
    ${execpi 15 sudo iwlist wlan0 scan | awk -F '[ :=]+' '/ESS/{ printf $3" " } /Encr/{ printf "-"$4"- " } /Qual/{ print $3 }' | sed "s/\"//g;s/-on-/S/;s/-off-/O/;s/\/100/%/" | awk -F '[ :=]+' '/%/{ print "-"$2"- "$3" "$1" ^"$2"^" }' | sed "s/-O- /\${color darkgreen}/;s/-S- //;s/ ^O^/\${color #708090}/;s/ ^S^//"}
And the result is: see screenshot.

Have you gotten something else since the last time?

Talking Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

Well, I just spent a few hours redoing my .conkyrc into something more pleasing than the rainbow I used to have. I give you... Conky Mono!
You need to have the conkyGoogleCalendar and conkyGuayadeque(or-Banshee) packages installed for the calendar and music player parts to function. You might also need to modify the temps/fan section depending on your hardware configuration.
    .conkyrc:
    Code:

Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

Hi, I am new to conky, and I used mugenfanatic script to see if I could get conky working, it starts but it covers my background where anything that I open, opens underneath it and i can not see anything that I open at all, I think it could have to do with compiz but I have not been able to figure out how to make conky start about 60 seconds after compiz. I have seen the post that tells how to get it to start after but it tells me know such file when I type /bin/bash, but I know that file is there. Could someone tell me the exact command I need word for word please? If you do not think that is the problem any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I can't help with that problem, I use keybindings instead of a startup script. BUT! I can give you some reading material to help you learn Conky for yourself.

Conky Configuration Variables (Above the TEXT section.)
Conky Objects (Below the TEXT section.)
Conky Pitstop (Source for how-to-use scripts.)
    kaivalagi's weather script.
    kaivalagi's misc scripts.
Other kaivalagi python scripts for use with Conky.

Very helpful stuff. It'll help you understand what is going on in your Conky setup.

It'll help you more to actually have your conky configuration open while you're reading it. That way you can look at what other people have done through those links, and how everything works, and see how everything functions within your own setup.

It's not a solution to the problem you're stating, but it's about Conky in general. I wish I could help with the startup script bit, but I have my Conky setup set to a key binding. I hit a button combo and my Conky appears, hit another button combo and it shuts it off.
