    Got the new LEDs working. And I'm hot on the trail of fixing the bandwidth meter lua script. (AKA it finally spat out an error message.) I'll update things in a bit.

    Same error. I've renamed the file, copied and pasted the contents to a new file, with and without the conky_ on the function that same error every time. Methinks it SHOULD be working, but simply isn't. I think I pissed off the error fairies. EVERYTHING you've taught me says, no, SCREAMS that there's no actual problem. But yet... error... Me=Confuzzled.

    *EDIT* Taking a break though. My brain is frizzled and could cook an egg on it right now. I need to go make myself a cup of tea and relax for a few hours. Hopefully it will work for me at some point.

    I spent the entire day on the Google trying to figure this out, so please don't kill me... but it's true to say that there is no way to use the Compiz "Place Windows" plugin to launch a separate conky configuration on each viewport (workspace)? It seems like it can't recognize the window name or title that I set in the conky config (which is correctly displayed by wmctrl, xprop, etc.).

    Thanks for the response! I gave that a try but unfortunately Compiz is evil and seems to create only one workspace and internally delineates it into separate viewports. I guess this is so it can do its fancy-pants cube effects and the like (and give us multiple wallpapers).

    Those variables indicated everything as desktop / workspace 1, regardless of where I launched conky. This seems consistent with what wmctrl reports -- four 3200-wide viewports smooshed into one large workspace (12800):

    its a little complex, as i'm using a self made curve drawing code chunk to make the curve drawing easier and more interactive

    it does add many additional lines of code however... but i find it almost impossible to input numbers directly into the cairo_curve_to command and get what i want!

    the above lua is the one that rotates with the labels

    edit - to smooth things out i need 3 curves between each of the core arcs
    right now there is only 1 curve, and when things move around in a certain way it isnt a smooth transition
