    Well, here would be my attempt. As simple as it gets and drawn out as a one (and a half ) liner.

    it is a neat little gizmo but I had to put Ubuntu on it. The default chromeOS was just too limiting.

    Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

    First time poster here

    I am rather new to ubuntu, loving it so fare and i got hooked on scripting conky in no time..
    Atm i am scripting ->This
    (originall creeds to Londonali1010)

    It's still under work so nothing to fancy yet. I have hade some minor problem to get the "memory bar" to start from the top, like the cpu one is doing.

    So a few houres ago i figured it would be kind of nice to be able to get -Spotify playing- showing in conky.
    And i have hit a brickwall, the only thing i have found so fare is this.

    script_path=`dirnam $0`
    c_exec=$script_path/spotify_playing

    if [ -e $c_exec ]; then
    # Use the C version if it exists.
    $c_exec
    else
    pgrep spotify.exe 1>/dev/null 2>&1
    if [ $? != 0 ]; then
    exit 1
    fi

    xwininfo -root -tree | grep '"Spotify": ("spotify.exe" "Wine")' 1>/dev/null 2>&1
    if [ $? != 0 ]; then
    xwininfo -root -tree | grep '("spotify.exe" "Wine")' | grep -v 'has no name' | sed 's/[ ]*0x[0-9a -f]* "Spotify - \(.*\)": ("spotify.exe" "Wine").*/\1/'
    else
    exit 1
    fi
    fi
    And to call the script in .conkyrc i have been trying with: ${execi 15 ~/scripts/spotify.sh}

    Anyone have a clue about what i am doing wrong or even got another script for it?

    Most, if not all of this is cribbed from all over, take and modify as you see fit but I probably won't be able to help you with it. I'm using VinDSL's version of the background script.

    I really want to get an actual TV listing for favorite shows, the stuff you can see is just stuff I shoved into remind. I'm looking at the TVRage script. Someone suggested setting up an account to deal with favorite shows, is that the only way to do it? I'd prefer to keep a list of my favorite shows somewhere that it can filter on those. I'm kind of at a loss on how to get that going.

    Of course you can, it's pretty much just a "grab source"-"grab names"-"print what has been found"-script, but here you are:

    Code:
    #!/bin/bash
    all=`exec wget -q -O - 'http://www.fastpasstv.com/tv' | grep "newvid"`

    Change this value to a higher number. What number? Easy. Whatever higher number gets you the result you want It might be to 15, maybe 20, maybe 30. Who knows? That's the fun part!
