    Either way, I don't know how to get the icons for the mounted drives off the desktop. I'd love it to be icon free!

    Bruce, great progress-- we're all learning some part of linux or another. If you're interested in overall customization of your desktop and haven't already taken a look, you should be visiting the monthly desktops thread in the Community Cafe forum, it's a sticky at the very top. Here's this month's: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=628244

    Another thread with dozens of pages for you to check out

    As for your conky, next step is to mess with the colours to match your desktop, unless of course you like them that way, it's all a matter of taste of course. Glancing at yours, and as an orange lover myself I'd say keep that and change the green to a light grey/creamy white, maybe #bfbfbf or #8f8f8f.

    Re: Post your .conkyrc files w/ screenshots

    I'm having some problems with my .conkyrc file. I borrowed elements from others that know what they are doing, and I have tweaked it to get this. I want to make some subtle changes, but am having difficulties, any input may be appreciated.

    I want to get rid of the processes. (Basically the process detail), and I want the font to be larger. I know how to increase the font size. I want the CPU graph to go away. I like the one that monitors both cores (the 2 line graphs), but the background one is distracting.

    I want the weather stuff to read in a larger font than everything else.

    Any suggestions?

    You should be able to remove the process detail by eliminating/deleting this section
    Code:
    Processes Detail: ${alignr}${offset -4}PID ${offset 4}CPU% MEM%
    ${color #B26B59}${offset 17}${top name 1}${alignr}${offset -3}${top pid 1} ${top cpu 1} ${top mem 1}$color
    ${offset 17}${top name 2}${alignr}${top pid 2} ${top cpu 2} ${top mem 2}
    ${offset 17}${top name 3}${alignr}${top pid 3} ${top cpu 3} ${top mem 3}
    ${offset 17}${top name 4}${alignr}${top pid 4} ${top cpu 4} ${top mem 4}
    ${offset 17}${top name 5}${alignr}${top pid 5} ${top cpu 5} ${top mem 5}
    To increase font size you should be do so by simply adjusting
    xftfont Candara:size=7 <---- to a size more suited to your needs

    Regarding the graph. You should be able to remove that by deletion of this line
    ${cpugraph cpu0 60,299 04578a 597DB2}

    For the weather part it will use the same size text since it included within a single conkyrc file. What you could do is run the weather script in a second conkyrc file, and use a script to call them both. As describe here http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.p...pt#post3777282 This will allow you to have the weather sow up were you want on the screen as well as make it a different size.

    So you would keep your original conkyrc moving your weather section to a second conky like below. Adjusting the font size as needed.
    Code:
    # Conky weather configuration
    #
    # the list of variables has been removed from this file in favour
    # of keeping the documentation more maintainable.
    # Check http://conky.sf.net for an up-to-date-list.

    # set to yes if you want Conky to be forked in the background
    background yes

    # X font when Xft is disabled, you can pick one with program xfontsel

    I think your graphs are behind your text because of the ${voffset -68} line. Can't test it out (at the office, on Windoze) but I think the voffset is sliding your graphs up behind your text, or vice versa.
