    Great work for your first conky. Check out Conky! Hardcore, Bruce has many public calendar scripts, and the very one you speak of.

    BTW diesel, all of your other scripts work. Not using them all, but they all ended up working on my machine. Awesome job with them, been fun learning different things.
    Your bash is only slightly newer than mine. Weird that only the calendar isn't working properly. You could always leave the
    Code:
    [ $(date +%F -r calendar.txt) != $(date +%F) ] && calendar
    out and remove
    Code:
     > calendar.txt
    from the end of
    Code:
    echo -e "\${color7}${cal:0:21}\${color4}${cal:21:21}\${color9}$prev\${color}$current$next" > calendar.txt
    and just call that directly from conky instead of messing with the separate text file.

    OK. Then next step in pinpointing error:
    Code:
    [ "$(date +%F -r ~/.bashrc)" != "$(date +%F)" ] && echo "puchi! puchi! puchi! " || echo "blurb"

    Posts up "puchi! puchi! puchi!" with that script.

    I'll try out your suggestion diesel & let you know how it goes.

    This may be burried in this thread somewhere, but i couldn't find it.

    Is there a way to make conky save network traffic stats for a period of time. For example have it save Total Download or Upload amount for February and then reset on March 1st (or whatever date/time you want)?

    Kind of like a running download/upload.

    There's something wrong on my conky config. The network don't work, it shows 0 at download and upload even if i download or upload.
    And HD also don't work, it don't appear. I have latest version on hddtemp and lm-sensors.
    Can anyone help me with that ? Thanks

    a small contribution. not really any bling or terribly interactive stuff going on, just fits my desire for a low-key, low eye-strain desktop.

    I believe you would need to run a script to keep track of those numbers, and then display the output in conky.

    first run "ifconfig" in your terminal to find out what name your network adapter has, since it doesn't seem to be any of the 3 covered in the conkyrc. It seems that you may have something that matches, either wlan0, eth0 or ppp0, which lets conky display the network and weather sections, but what it's catching isn't your actual network adapter. I suspect your network adapter may be something like eth1.

    As for HD, do you mean hard drive temperature? I'm not seeing any code for that in your conkyrc at all. I do see you're not getting your cpu temperature though. When you start conky in the terminal, does it give you any errors about "execi 30 sensor"?

    Vnstat may be what you're looking for; I think some of the posters here who have limits imposed by their isp's have been using it:
