ndiswrapper problems in Edgy beta

I had my Netgear WG111T working fine in Dapper, but I can't get it working in Edgy beta...

ndiswrapper -l output:
Code:
athfmwdl driver present, hardware present
netwg11t driver present

modprobe ndiswrapper output:
Code:
FATAL: Error inserting ndiswrapper (/lib/modules/2.6.17-10-generic/kernel/drivers/net/ndiswrapper/ndiswrapper.ko): Invalid argument
Any idea what is wrong here?

Re: ndiswrapper problems in Edgy beta

Hello

I have since got mine to work.

What I did was go into Synaptic Package Manager, go to search and type ndis.

Arrow key down and make sure the following 4 packagers are installed.

NdisWrapper-common 1.18

NdisWrapper-utils 1.1-5

NdisWrapper-utils-1.1 1.15

NdisWrapper-utils-1.8

One of the above was not installed on my computer, Sorry but I forgot which one.

I did this then reinstalled the two inf files and then restarted the computer and it worked.

Still no luck!

I have even tried compiling ndiswrapper myself... I don't understand - this was so easy in Dapper!

Hi

Yes I agree, I also had no problem what so ever in dapper, It worked first time every time.

My new problem is, every time I switch of the computer the wireless card does not start on the first boot, I have to restart the computer at login to get it to work.

I think I will go back to dapper.

Re: ndiswrapper problems in Edgy beta

I started over from scratch with a clean install of RC1 -- I followed these instructions EXACTLY:
http://ubuntuguide.org/wiki/Ubuntu:E...Ndiswrapper.29

...and I get the exact same error.

I have also tried installing the very newest version of ndiswrapper from source. More info here:
http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthre...ghlight=WG111T

Sorry for the multiple threads, I wasn't sure where to post this, or if I was giving enough info.

Thanks.

Re: ndiswrapper problems in Edgy beta

When I tried Ndiswrapper in Edgy beta, I didn't get it to work. Apparently it's not edgy, but the new kernel?

Worked for me too. For anyone else in the same boat as me: if you can't get internet without wireless, the packages can be downloaded and installed manually from here: http://packages.ubuntu.com/cgi-bin/s...gy&release=all
