Possible to boot ISOs from hard drive?

A friend of mine has a bootable DVD iso but no DVD burner. He wants to know if there is any possible way to boot the ISO directly from the hard drive.

Can it be done in some way by giving the ISO it's own partition?

I had an idea that maybe some sort of starter CD exists that would initally boot just to be able to read a drive and let the user choose and iso file to boot the rest of the way from there.

    Any suggestions are appreciated.

Yes, it's possible. And for the life of me I can't remember where I saw it. Time to google. Be right back. ...

Edit: Hmm. I remember seeing this site and this site, but I don't remember if I used one or both or another one altogether.

I don't know if those pages will be helpful at all, but I'm 99 percent sure it can be done (I remember doing it ages ago, but again, I don't remember all the details). Good luck.
