Re: Howto Get Eyetoy Webcam working for Ubuntu
Been fighting to get a cam working on my box for the last couple of years. I have gspca installed. inserted eyetoy, recognised by Xubuntu. Dmesg gives me this:
Code:
[18319.520020] usb 2-2: new full speed USB device using ohci_hcd and address 2
[18319.737198] usb 2-2: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice
[18320.082065] gspca: main v2.2.0 registered
[18320.086496] gspca: probing 054c:0155
[18320.322999] ov519: I2C synced in 1 attempt(s)
[18320.323004] ov519: starting OV7xx0 configuration
[18320.358996] ov519: Sensor is an OV7648
[18320.396699] gspca: probe ok
[18320.396740] gspca: probing 054c:0155
[18320.412769] usbcore: registered new interface driver ov519
[18320.412775] ov519: registered
[18320.417192] usbcore: registered new interface driver snd-usb-audio
and eyetoy worked immediately in Cheese and gstreamer-properties.
It also half works in Skype, but I get thick pink & grey horizontal lines across the picture. Still, it's progress! [EDIT] this appears to be a resolution issue, because if I set the output resolution to 320x240 in cheese I get the same pink and green lines. Works for video chat, but my caller gets the lines at their end too.
