Any music players doing this yet?

I feature I have longed for has always been to browse your music through album art, like itunes 7 now does.

Amarok sort of lets you do this, but you can't just browse all your albums with the album art. You can only see the albums of the artists you're currently listening to, or when you first start up amarok the context will show your favorite albums.

Is there a music player for GNU/linux that allows you to browse albums this way:

    CoverFlow ??

If there is, I haven't found it yet

I don't think so . It's really sweet. But at the end of the day it just amounts to eye candy. I think the benefits of amarok far outweigh this one bit of eye candy. (Like the ability to browse your hd for music, itunes really pisses me of in that regard!) The amarok people say to expect nice changes for amarok2 but we just have to wait.

I think it's more than eye-candy, it's about usability too.

For people who backup their music CD's on their PC (like me) they often associate songs with their albums. They would want to able to browse their collection like they would browse thru a CD-album or their CD rack.

I definately don't need 3d effects like that, but a simple ALBUMS tab in the collection window would be killer.

I haven't tried iTunes 7 and if I look at the eye Candy pic it doen't even come close.
It's a long shot but Quod Libet lets you browse through albums so if you've installed album arts you can sorta do the same.
With your mouse wheel you can browse through the albums in the left panel.

    Cool, thanks

It seems Quod Libet is the closest to what I'm looking for. Dare I say Exaile will be second place for a while? Nah, probably not.

I posted the request for amarok on the wishlist at bugs.kde
I don't see it coming in the near future, but at least for amarok 2 this should be very doable.

Honestly, it seems so natural a feature I'm suprised it's not pursued.

Hmm, I hope that it gets implemented, would be a nice feature!
