Your guide to green electronics

Here's an interesting guide from Greenpeace showing how "green", or environmentally responsible the big electronics companies are. It's nice to have this to consider when searching for new hardware along with pricing or Linux compatibility. You may want to think again if your were looking at buying from Lenovo or Apple, they both came out rather poorly in these ratings. Nokia and Dell came out tops. There are full rankings, criteria and individual company profiles available in pdfs on the site.

Recycling Companies for computers exist for good reason. Not only are they doing the ecosystem a good service, but they make a pretty penny off the precious metals contained within your components.
