Will the first Sims play in VMware Server? Can anyone tell me without guessing? I know that games with certain 3d features can't play in VMware Server, but I am not sure about this one.

The best I can give you is a guess... sorry... but VMware probably doesn't render properly to run Sims 1 or 2... but like I said... just a guess...
If it uses directx then no. You have to pay big bucks for the Workstation version to get limited beta directx support.
Make sure to try installing vmware tools inside the guest os... and make it full screen.
It might help...
Every time you install Jaunty, a kitten........ wait sorry what year is this again?

I tried to install VMware Tools into a Linux guest, hoping Quake II would run faster. The only graphics benefit is the cursor moving faster.
speaking of vmware -does anyone know when the next major release of it is? or at least an update of the directx features? thanks.
Ubuntu pickles me pink like a summer wildflower caressing the cheek of a jolly schoogirl.
Sims is running pretty good in the lower resolution. If I use high resolution, it's a little bit slow.
