Changing username

Hi,

Firstly, i couldn't find an explanation about why users can not change their usernames in forums via user settings panel. Can i learn the reason?
Secondly, if it is available, may admins of forum change my username to "redmorning" please?

The reason you can't change your own user name, is because we have several members who would like to change their user names as often as they change their shirts. It's hard enough to keep track of over 2 million user names, without members randomly changing them when ever they want, and even though the hardware that the forum runs on is more than adequate for the task, the database would need re-indexing on a regular basis which as it stands now takes well over 6 hours to do.
