Will Ubuntu Run on Dell Inspiron 15 (5000)?

I'm considering buying the following Dell touch screen laptop and installing Ubuntu 14.04 on it.

The pre-installed Ubuntu systems are substantially more expensive. Does anyone know if Ubuntu

will run well on this system?

Hello and welcome, from the specs that you posted it seems like your system is more than qualified to run Ubuntu light or heavy.

Dell recently updated Sputnik.
The Sputnik they released for 12.04 was required back then to make systems released then work, but by 14.04 all of the Sputnik fixes were included.
