    Crossfire not working in games

    Hi All,

I am unable to get crossfire working under Ubuntu 14.04.3. I have installed the latest crimson drivers and it says that crossfire is enabled... yet the 2nd GPU will not work in any games and stays idle. Is there a trick to get this working?

    Thanks in advance

    What game?

    What GPU's are you running?

Doesn't crossfire rely on profiles on a per-game basis?

I have two AMD R9 280's. The game im playing is Dying Light... I figured it would have crossfire support, considering it does in Windows.

Does the game run at all?

I own Dying Light too and it broke some days ago. Doesn't run.

EDIT: I'm not using crossfire BTW, just a single R9 270x card.

AMD CrossFire™ is supported on Linux only if there is an application profile available. Also, Linux does not support XDMA AMD CrossFire.

Thanks for the info mastablasta. Also, Maxinstuff2, i was able to get it to work... although it was pretty poor performance. Also note that the first launch takes a long time to load (even on an SSD)... it will just sit on a black screen for a couple minutes. But it definitely isnt optimized well for Linux. Also, if you have a save game in Windows and run it on Linux, the next time you login to Windows to play, it will state that the save game is corrupted and will start you at the beginning of the last known mission... it also messes up your skill points... Not a big deal, because it unlocked ALL of the agility skill points lol.
