    I since have been testing other distros with the 4.4 series kernel all of them have spot on support for all my hardware.
    ...
    So I guess I am done with testing Ubuntu..The good though is that it brought me back to Arch where i will Stay..
    I am glad to hear that others are happy with it.
    Forgot to mention the same happens on kernel 4.5RCs also.
    Kind Regards
    runnrickas: Please bear with Ubuntu, and be aware that your issue is being worked on. Please also to consider to not get upset with Ubuntu for bringing an issue to the foreground that will eventually have to be dealt with for all distributions. There has been an upstream kernel patch proposed, although I am not current on the status.

    I believe that if you try the low-latency kernel you will find it is O.K. with your sound card (and actually please do try it).
    You can follow developments on the bug report (and see the links in the last couple of comments). While it has been set to fix released, myself I do not like the current solution, for the exact reason you discovered, the generic kernel remains broken.
    Any follow-up information on your issue would be appreciated. Please have the courtesy to report back.

    I do not get upset..But rather matter of fact.
    As seen in the output in my last post the kernel runs fine, no problems with other non-debian distro's
    But I have a love for Ubuntu so i will do my best to support it weather I use it or not!
    There are other issues that i will not junk this thread with ATM.
    But yes Doug I will test the low-lat kernels.
    Also I have been following the bug report.
    Kind Regards
    EDIT: @Doug_S I hope I do not sound callus here I very much appreciate your attention on this Thank You!

    Re: Kernel 4.4 RC (Release Candidate) series

    Well after some hours of fooling around with some of the 4.4 kernels(lowlatency)
    I determined that the only kernel that will now work with the Creative SB is the one in synaptic "4.4.0-2-lowlatency"
    But that took some forcing to install..
    The "4.4.1-040401-lowlatency" From mainline will not work at all
    Code:
    $ aplay -l
    **** List of PLAYBACK Hardware Devices ****
    card 0: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 3: HDMI 0 [HDMI 0]
      Subdevices: 1/1
      Subdevice #0: subdevice #0
    card 0: NVidia [HDA NVidia], device 7: HDMI 1 [HDMI 1]
      Subdevices: 1/1
      Subdevice #0: subdevice #0

    $ inxi -A
    Audio: Card-1 NVIDIA GF119 HDMI Audio Controller driver: snd_hda_intel
               Sound: ALSA v: k4.4.1-040401-lowlatency
    me@me-Aspire-M3300:~$ uname -r
    4.4.1-040401-lowlatency
    Found a bunch of info in the logs that helped me hammer the driver in only for the "4.4.0-2-lowlatency" kernel though
    Code:
    $ /sbin/lsmod | grep snd

    Re: Kernel 4.4 RC (Release Candidate) series

    Did you observe on the bug report, that there is an upstream fix (which we knew about, actually) "that now allows both ZONE_DMA and
    ZONE_DEVICE to be set"? This had to be ultimately be the solution, I did not like the interim fix. I guess it still has to percolate down to Ubuntu.
    Any follow-up information on your issue would be appreciated. Please have the courtesy to report back.

    Thanks Doug_S!
    The way i read it was "Fixed"
    55 minutes ago
    Changed in linux (Ubuntu Xenial):
    status: In Progress → Fix Committed
    I have been on another OS for a couple of days so I will fire Xenial up and check it out.
    Thanks again Doug and sorry about the rant from before, you don't need my frustrations, and i feel bad about the other day.
    But your reply back was very professional so say the least.
    Kind Regards

    "fix committed" does not mean "fix released", and sometimes they even set "fixed released" a bit early. Wait for "fix released" and a subsequent updated kernel with regular updates on Xenial before testing.

    Re: Kernel 4.4 RC (Release Candidate) series

    @runrickus: Todays xenial updates include kernel 4.4.0-6.21, which should include the fix for your sound card issues.
    Any follow-up information on your issue would be appreciated. Please have the courtesy to report back.
