    Bluetooth headset only works as stereo headphones.

    I bought a Soundbot 270 headset. It pairs fine and works when I set the mode to High Fidelity Playback (A2DP) in the Sound Settings. However I when I set it to Telephony Duplex (HSP/HFP), There is no audio and the microphone doesn't work.

    I'm running 14.04.

    Hi and welcome.

    That is to be expected. You need to select the Bluetooth mic as the input device.

    Perhaps I wasn't clear. I did that and it didn't work.
