Browser is firefox with the User Styles add-on displaying this thread with the "Ubuntuforums VB4" user style.
Conky is a modified (colourful) "Ubuntu conky" with a lua script for the rounded corners and transparency etc.

Edit: a better view of the conky colours ... the top image masks the bar colours a bit ...

This will be the last of this for me. I guess it is a new adventure for a small time.

Wink Re: Artistic August Screen Shot Thread

Haven't been doing any screenshots as of late, but here I am with some new ones:

    Clean desktop

Clean desktop, showing off GNOME Pie main menu

Clean desktop showing off GNOME Pie LibreOffice menu

VLC window open, showing off the Global Menu applet for Cinnamon

I have more Arch Linux screenshots since is my primary Linux. However, just yesterday, I switched desktop environments and moved to Cinnamon. With KDE Plasma 4 in maintenance mode only, a number of KDE apps have switched to Plasma 5 standards, thus Qt5. The newer apps still worked wonders, but most of my Plasma and window themes (namely Oxygen Transparent) were incompatible with said Qt5 apps, and looked like vanilla Plasma 5 oxygen. Plasma 5 is still a young DE with not a lot of add-ons available for it yet, so it was time for me to make the switch. I may go back to KDE Plasma once more add-ons and themes are made for it.

As for Cinnamon, I managed to do much of what I had done with KDE 4 and went with my usual blend of my usual Mac OS X style desktop, complete with dock and global app menu, with some sprinkling of Chrome OS transparency. In addition, I made some changes to my dock, with some of the dock items activating various GNOME Pie menus. All in all, it's new desktop environment and a number of new apps (traded KDE ones for GNOME/Cinnamon ones), but keeping a very similar look

    Desktop Environment: Cinnamon 2.6

Right Wallpaper: custom-made Super Mario "Rosalina Star Field Collage" (16:10 version)
    Icons: Mint-X-Teal
Dock: Docky ... features include: Anchor logo removed using gconf, Launchers for various GNOME Pie menus (Main Menu, Internet, Multimedia, LibreOffice, and Session)
    Docky Theme: Transparent
Special Features: Dual displays, Global Menu, GNOME Pie

Don't like Unity? Hate it? Not your cup of coffee? Ubuntu does provide choices. There's GNOME Shell, KDE Plasma, Xfce, LXDE, and now MATE and Cinnamon. Take your pick
